New tour offers transportation to Two Harbors
Most visitors to Catalina never explore beyond the limits of Avalon, the island’s only city. With its charming waterfront and quaint streets, the seaside resort offers the perfect respite from the mainland. But venture beyond Avalon and you’ll be rewarded with an entirely new vision of Catalina Island. Camping, hiking and boating and are few of the ways to explore alternative Catalina destinations like Little Harbor, Blackjack and the West End.
There’s a new way to experience one of those alternative island destinations. Discover Two Harbors utilizes the high-speed Cyclone to whisk adventurers to the Isthmus, where they can explore the charming village of Two Harbors for the day before returning to Avalon in the late afternoon. Once you board the Cyclone at 10:15 a.m., your destination is just about 40 minutes away. An exciting option for transportation to Two Harbors, this tour lets you explore this remote outpost on your own.
With spectacular scenery, compelling activities and a wide sandy beach, Two Harbors is an ideal location for a day of fun in the sun. Need some shade? Rent a palapa or a chaise lounge with a sun umbrella. Nearby marine sanctuaries make Two Harbors a perfect destination for snorkeling and the protected, sheltered waters are ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. If all your adventuring – or relaxing – fuels your appetite, Two Harbors features a snack stand, general store and restaurant. A full bar also offers adult libations, including Catalina’s signature cocktail, the Buffalo Milk.
At 4 p.m., your return Cyclone ride departs, letting you arrive back in Avalon in time for dinner, a return boat to the mainland or additional island adventures. For more information or to book the Discover Two Harbors tour, click here.
