A fun, natural history paddling tour where you can explore the rugged coastline of Catalina Island in a modern, easy to maneuver & stable sit-on-top kayak for two! Your experienced instructor and knowledgeable guide will teach the basics of paddling. You’ll find out how simple and fun kayaking on Catalina’s clear ocean waters can be.
What will we experience? Once on the water, your guide will point out interesting and historical Catalina Island landmarks, birds & plants and discuss the island’s ancient to modern history, geology and ecology as you glide over near-shore kelp forests above colorful fish. There’s always something WILD to see… a harbor seal may peek at you from the offshore rocks or a bald eagle may snag a fish from the water nearby.
What to know: Check in is promptly a half hour before your tour departure. Allow a 15-minute grace period after the tour. At Frog Rock, you’ll land to stretch your legs, have a satisfying snack and a bottle of water and take a quick dip in the sea if you desire. Suitable for all ages, non-strenuous for beginners. Advanced gear available for experienced paddlers.

"We have participated in two previous kayaking tours in the San Diego area where the groups are large & there is pressure to keep up pace with the larger group. Our experience in Catalina was so much more relaxing because the group was small and we didn't feel pressure to stay in a group."
