Meet us in the Island Tour Plaza to check-in for your photography session as a Catalina Island Mermaid. We’ll talk folklore and art and then head down to the water’s edge. Mermaid tail included, please bring your top of choice. Sizes available for kids and adults up to size XXXL, or size 22. Your photographer knows the best poses and backgrounds to make this a memorable experience worthy of capturing on film. Mermaid tails and shell bras are available in most sizes.
The first 30 minutes of your experience will give you time to select the perfect mermaid tail, shell bra (if you’d like), and other fun props to make sure you’re camera ready. Then head down to the beach with your photographer for about an hour-long shoot.
Your photoshoot will create your own online gallery complete with all of the RAW images taken plus one professionally edited photo – if you would like more than one professionally edited version of your images, please select one of the options upon checkout or discuss rates & availability with your photographer during your shoot.

For guests with mobility challenges, the location of the photoshoot can be easily adjusted to allow for ease of access based on your unique needs. Please plan to email or text ahead of your session so we can make individual arrangements to ensure your photo shoot meets your expectations & requirements.

Bring your own mermaid top & a change of clothes/towel in case you get wet on the beach or rocks and would like to change after your shoot. A shell bra from our collection may be available in your size. You are the star of the show so bring your sense of fun and don’t forget your mermaid mindset.

Do I need reservations for the Catalina Mermaid Experience?
Yes. Because of the schedule of the photographer, you do need to reserve your spot ahead of time.
Are there restrooms or changing rooms nearby the Catalina Island Mermaid Photo Shoot location?
There are restrooms located in the Island Tour Plaza and we have a changing room in our shop you may also use. However, you may wish to arrive already wearing your bathing suit to avoid wait times for changing.
