Prepare to meet some of nature’s most impressive predators up close and personal with a Catalina Island falconry experience. You’ll learn about the ancient art of falconry before having the opportunity to work with a hawk or falcon. The bird will land on your gloved hand and you’ll have the chance to “cast” the bird and have it return to you. You will also get to meet owls and other birds of prey. Bring your camera!
Guests will spend part of their time on the lawn located at Descanso Beach Club and part of their time at the terraces above the lawn.

No unpaid spectators will be permitted. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are not allowed. Raptor performance not guaranteed. All guests must comply with the falconer’s instructions.

For your safety, you should be in good health & free from high blood pressure, heart, neck, or back problems, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this tour.
Guests should be comfortable with standing for the duration of the experience and should also be able to navigate four flights of stairs between the lawn and the terraces. For any guests who may have difficulty with mobility and stairs, assistance is available with advanced notification.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes based on the season. High heels are not recommended. Check the Catalina Island weather forecast and dress appropriately. Gratuity for your guide is not included but is accepted and greatly appreciated!

The Catalina Falconry Experience takes place at Descanso Beach, just past the Casino Building. Check-in at the Falconry Desk near Zip Line Base Camp.

No. No unpaid spectators are permitted.

No. The Catalina Falconry Experience is not an experience designed for young children. Children must be at least 7 years of age and accompanied by a paying, responsible adult.

Yes, restrooms are available at Descanso Beach, where the tour takes place.
When is the Catalina Falconry Experience available?
The Catalina Falconry Experience is offered in the mornings on Saturdays and Sundays.
