Catalina Aerial Adventure

People are taking to the trees on the Catalina Aerial Adventure, a unique and alluring outdoor experience at Descanso Beach Club, SoCal’s favorite island entertainment and adventure destination. The Catalina Aerial Adventure is just a short stroll from the ocean, but you’ll feel like you’re deep in the woods, as you climb, swing and slide from tree to tree on a series of obstacles suspended in a grove of towering eucalyptus high above the canyon floor.

This aerial adventure includes five self-guided, self-paced courses—each made up of rope ladders, log bridges, balance beams, zip lines and other challenging elements—that are arranged in beginner (2), intermediate (2) and advanced (1) configurations, offering aerial excitement for everyone, regardless of skill or athletic ability.

All participants are required to sign an acknowledgment of risk and release of liability waiver during the check-in process 20 minutes before a scheduled tour. Participants under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian sign for them at this time. Without parental consent and signature, minors will not be permitted on tour and will not be refunded or rescheduled.

All participants on tour are required to hike short distances, ascend and descend stairs, need to be of average mobility and strength, and in reasonably good health. We do not recommend participation with preexisting injuries, back, neck, or heart issues. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure whether participating in the Catalina Aerial Adventure on Catalina Island is suitable for you. If questions still remain, please speak to one of our representatives before booking.

If upon arrival it is made clear to the staff that you are not of adequate mobility, strength, or health, for your safety we do reserve the right to refuse your participation on the tour. Because of potential health and safety risks, pregnant guests will not be permitted to participate. For your safety, you should be in good health & free from high blood pressure, heart, neck or back problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this tour. Due to the adventurous nature of this tour, it is not wheelchair accessible.

We will not cancel tours due to cold or mildly rainy weather. Catalina Aerial Adventure management may cancel tours because of unsafe Catalina weather conditions such as heavy winds, heavy rains, and/or potential thunderstorms. If tours have been canceled by management because of unsafe weather conditions tickets will be refunded or rescheduled for a later time. Please contact us in the event of inclement weather on Catalina Island.

We have a strict 72-hour cancellation policy. Tour refund or rescheduling options will only be offered until 72 hours before a tour reservation. No refunds or rescheduling will be permitted afterward. Late arrivals, no shows, and those not meeting tour requirements during tour check-in will not be refunded or rescheduled. Please review all tour requirements and plan your day and travel arrangements accordingly.

Age/Weight Requirements:
All participants will be weighed in, fully clothed, during the check-in process before each tour. Participants must weigh between 50 lbs – 270 lbs and be at least 55 inches tall. Those unable to meet this requirement at the time of tour check-in will not be permitted to participate and will not be offered a refund or rescheduled.

Footwear Requirements:
Securable, closed-toe shoes are required. Athletic shoes are recommended. We do offer a limited number of shoes to rent if proper footwear is unavailable otherwise.

Appropriate Gear:
No participant on the tour is permitted to use any other gear (helmet, harness, trolley, etc.) besides that which is provided by the Catalina Aerial Adventure staff at the outset of the tour.

Other Requirements:
Long shorts or pants are suggested. Skirts, belly shirts and bathing suits will not be permitted. Please remove dangling earrings. Participants with long hair must secure hair with a hair tie or similar accessory. We will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged belongings. Please store any and all unnecessary items in lockers provided during tour check-in.

Catalina Aerial Adventure staff is in no way obligated to begin or complete a tour for a participant or group that appears to be impaired, ignoring staff instructions, or that is found in any way to be endangering the safety of themselves, others or the course environment. Such participants and/or those found disturbing the peace of other guests with profanity, vulgarity or otherwise will be kindly evacuated from the course and not allowed to continue the tour. Refunds or rescheduling will not be offered in either of these situations. Smoking is not allowed while on the tour.

Only some of our party wants to attend the Catalina Aerial Adventure, can the rest watch from the ground?

Yes. There is space for spectators. Additionally, those who are not participating can also enjoy the rest of the activities at Descanso Beach Club.

Can I bring my phone for pics & video on the Catalina Aerial Adventure?

Any cameras must be hands-free. GoPros in a body strap or helmet strap are acceptable, however cell phones are not. Don’t have a GoPro? They are available to rent for a fee when you check-in.

Is the Catalina Aerial Adventure good for team building?

Absolutely. Participants complete a variety of challenges and overcome obstacles together. Your team will be cheering each other’s triumphs and helping each other through complications. With three levels of configuration and five courses, the Catalina Aerial Adventure experience can be customized for your group.

Are there restrooms available on the Catalina Aerial Adventure?

Yes, there are restrooms at the Descanso Beach Club for use before or after your adventure. Restrooms are not located in the course area, so it is recommended that you go before check-in.
