Our knowledgeable staff will provide you with general information, a safety briefing, and local map, so you can plan out where you want to explore on your e-bike based on the duration of your rental.
Do we receive training? All guests must know how to ride a bike prior to check-in. Bike-riding instruction will not be provided as part of the rental. All guests must be able to hold up the bike on their own.
What to know: Electric Bikes may not operate in inclement weather for safety reasons. Electric bikes must remain within the city limits of Avalon (see map upon check-in for area of operation). Catalina Island weather may impact this excursion. Please contact us in the event of inclement weather.
Frog Rock Kayak Tour:
Once on the water, your guide will point out interesting and historical Catalina Island landmarks, birds & plants and discuss the island’s ancient to modern history, geology and ecology as you glide over near-shore kelp forests above colorful fish. There’s always something WILD to see… a harbor seal may peek at you from the offshore rocks or a bald eagle may snag a fish from the water nearby.
What to know: Check-in is promptly 30 minutes before your tour departure. Allow a 15-minute grace period after the tour. At Frog Rock, you’ll land to stretch your legs, have a satisfying snack and a bottle of water and take a quick dip in the sea if you desire. Suitable for all ages, non-strenuous for beginners. Advanced gear available for experienced paddlers.
What to bring and wear: Dress comfortably for the time of year you are visiting. During the summer, wear your bathing suit under shorts and a shirt for kayaking. In winter they will provide water-resistant windbreakers and pants. Be aware that you can get wet on the kayak tour, so you might want to bring a dry change of clothes with you, just in case. Sunscreen, towel, a sweatshirt or light jacket, comfortable shoes or flip flops are recommended. You may wish to bring spending money as tour guide gratuity is not included in this package.
