This is a great option for guests who are pregnant, can't walk far or can transfer from a wheelchair. This tour is fully accessible however, guests are required to transfer.

Where can I go with my rental? Rental golf carts on Catalina Island are able to travel most public roads within the city of Avalon. Please see the rental map of Catalina for details. You have control over where you go and for how long – stop and get out to explore as you like. The best place to start is with a do-it-yourself golf cart tour of Avalon, which will help you get acquainted with the town, from its cobblestone downtown streets to the hills overlooking town where you’ll find panoramic ocean views.
Do I need a reservation? Yes, a reservation is recommended. There are a limited number of golf carts on Catalina Island available for rental. Booking a reservation in advance will allow you to have a cart waiting for you, so you don’t have to wait in line.
How many people can ride in one golf cart? There are two types of Catalina Island golf carts available to rent – 4-passenger or 6-passenger. There is a limit of one child seat (car seat/booster) per golf cart.
Is there an ATM near the rental location to get money for the cash deposit? Yes – there is a US Bank ATM directly across the street. All ATMs on the island are either operated by US Bank or are private. You may want to bring cash with you to avoid unnecessary fees.
What to bring and wear: Comfortable shoes & clothing. A cash security deposit of $45 is required for all 4-passenger carts. A cash security deposit of $65 is required for all 6-passenger carts. All cash deposits will be returned in full as long as you return on time and there is no damage to the cart. All drivers must have a valid drivers license with them at the time of check-in. If you are traveling with an infant under one year of age, you should bring your own car seat. Car seats are available for children age 1 & up, free of charge. Limit one car seat per golf cart.
Restrictions: For your safety, you should be in good health & free from high blood pressure, heart, neck or back problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this tour.

While a reservation is not required, it is recommended. There are a limited number of rental carts available. Booking a reservation in advance will allow you to save time and confirm a cart is waiting for you. Guests who do not have a reservation have to wait in line for the next available cart.
Yes – these are provided free of charge on the lot. Car seats and boosters are available for children over the age of 1. If you have an infant younger than 1 year of age, you will need to bring your own car seat for them. There is no charge for use of the car seats. There is a limit of one child seat per golf cart. CA law requires that children under the age of 6 or 60 lbs. be in a child seat.
While there are no restrooms at the rental lot, they are not far away – either at the boat landing (Cabrillo Mole) or on the Green Pleasure Pier. There are also public restrooms at several other points along the roads where rental golf carts may travel.
Walking time to common locations:
The golf cart rental maximum is 2 hours at a time. Generally, most guests find 2 hours to tour around Avalon sufficient. Golf Carts are not available to rent overnight or over the weekend.
