Package Description: Your package includes round trip cross channel transportation from Long Beach aboard Catalina Express. Once on the Island, you will depart Avalon for a memorable day exploring Catalina Island’s scenic outback and remote beaches. On the 16 mile drive to Little Harbor, amazing ocean vistas and scenic landscapes surround you. We will stop at the Airport in the Sky and let you enjoy the Catalina Conservancy’s Nature Center before continuing on our journey. Your guide will point out wildlife, landmarks and explain the history of Catalina Island on the hour drive to Little Harbor Beach. Located on the ‘remote side’ of Catalina, Little Harbor is a Local favorite and one of the Catalina Island’s most beautiful beaches.
Enjoy the natural beauty of Catalina’s windward side as the natives did thousands of years ago. You will have three hours of free time at Little Harbor to Kayak, hike, beach comb and sunbathe before the return drive to town. On your return trip to Avalon we will explore Middle Canyon with a stop at the Eagle Sanctuary to visit with “Pimu” the resident Bald Eagle. Package includes local guide, picnic lunch, 2 singles or 1 double kayak, beach chairs & umbrella.
This unique tour is run by 3rd generation Islanders and provides an island style day off you will never forget.
Itinerary:
8:00 AM - Check in at Catalina Express, Downtown Long Beach Terminal (note 1)
8:30 AM – Depart for Catalina Island (note 1)
9:45 AM – Arrive Catalina Island (note 1)
9:45 AM - Check in at Catalina Kayak’s (Wet Spot Rentals) booth just past the boat dock as you head into town.
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Explore Catalina’s outback and remote beaches. Picnic, kayak & have fun!
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Open time to shop, dine, explore or just relax in Avalon
7:00 PM – Check in at Catalina Express (note 2)
7:30 PM – Depart from Avalon to Long Beach aboard Catalina Express (note 2)
8:45 PM – Arrive Long Beach (note 2)
(note 1) This schedule is for Saturday & Sunday through 6/24/10, thereafter daily from 6/25/10 - 9/06/10. Weekday passengers must take the 6:15 AM boat (5:45 AM check in) until 6/24/10.
March 26 - April 15, Catalina Express departs at 8:00 AM on Saturday’s only rather than 8:30 AM (check in at 7:30 am)
(note 2) On Fridays until 5/28/10, your return boat will leave at 8:50 PM (check in at 8:20 PM) and arrives in Long Beach at 10:10 PM.

What to bring and wear: Wear your bathing suit with a set of clothes over it; towel; sunscreen; soft soled shoes, sandals, or flip flops; sweatshirt or jacket, and spending money (gratuities for activity crews are not included in package).
